Lucas Michal, a 21-year-old French forward, is moving to Cercle Brugge from his parent club, Monaco. The transfer is expected to be a loan that does not include a purchase option. In the second half of last season, Michal was on loan at FC Metz, where he made nine Ligue 1 appearances, two of which were starts. Despite having played 18 times for Monaco's first team, including five matches in the Champions League, he has not yet scored his first professional goal or provided an assist. Michal has 19 caps and 10 goals for France's U20 team and previously won the Golden Boot at the U20 World Cup with five goals. His contract with Monaco is valid until June 2029, and his current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €3.50m. In August 2025, it was reported that Brest had made a permanent offer of €2 million plus bonuses, while Nantes proposed a loan with a €2.5 million purchase option.
