Lucas Freitas, a 25-year-old Brazilian-Portuguese defender, received a proposal from Chinese club Shandong Taishan for a permanent transfer. The offer stipulated that the defender would move for free, with Vasco receiving no financial compensation. Vasco rejected the deal, as the club is not currently interested in selling the player and wants to keep him as part of the squad. Previously, two other Série A clubs also demonstrated interest in the defender, but Vasco's management vetoed any potential exit.
