Argentine attacking midfielder Lucas Castro, 37, asked not to travel on Gimnasia's preseason tour to Russia next week. Castro, who has made 11 appearances in the domestic league this season, unilaterally said goodbye to the squad and is seeking to leave the club over a claim for money and greater participation on the field. He did not attend the training session that his teammates held on Saturday morning at Estancia Chica. His contract ends in December, but the termination of the contract could be signed in the next few days. The salary claim concerns an agreement that the previous management accepted and that the current one does not recognize. The player joined the club in August 2023 and, according to Transfermarkt, has a current market value of €125k.
