Tottenham Hotspur rejected transfer enquiries for 20-year-old Swedish central midfielder Lucas Bergvall from Chelsea and Aston Villa during the January transfer window. Both Premier League clubs made direct contact with Tottenham, who rejected the interest and will not consider his exit. It is believed that the interest from the two clubs was prompted by Bergvall being played out of position by his former head coach.
