Lucas Assadi is said to have been bought by AIK for a record sum. Miika Takkula explained that all paperwork was submitted immediately after the contract was signed, and that Assadi wanted to come to Allsvenskan and become a significant player in Europe, starting with AIK. Takkula also stated that Assadi can play as an offensive winger, a number ten, and a false nine, and that the club wanted to bring him in after the departure of Victor Andersson.

Lucas Assadi will likely not debut for AIK before the derby against Hammarby. AIK recruitment manager Miika Takkula said it seemed impossible for him to play in the derby. Takkula stated that they hope he will be available next week. Assadi did not participate in Friday's training. The player will only be eligible to play when his work permit is approved.

Universidad de Chile announced on its official X account that it received an offer from AIK that meets the conditions to sign Lucas Assadi after the player's release clause was activated. According to Universidad de Chile, Lucas Assadi will travel to Europe in the coming hours for a medical examination and to sign the contract with AIK. Sportbladet reports that Assadi will fly to Sweden on Saturday to sign a four-year contract. On its X account, Universidad de Chile wished Lucas success on his departure, which the club described as him leaving to fulfill his dream. Assadi's signing is one of AIK's most expensive ever, although the transfer record is still held by Andreas Andersson, who was signed for just over 20 million SEK from Newcastle in 1999.
