Catalan media outlet Sport reported that Lovro Chelfi is leaving Barcelona and joining Saudi Arabian club Al-Diriyah. Barcelona will include a buy-back clause in the contract, as the club's management is aware of the young attacker's potential and the possibility of his further development. The buy-back clause is a key part of the agreement. Chelfi's agent, Andy Bara, played a significant role in the transfer and has very good relations with Barcelona's sporting director Deco and the club's management. Al-Diriyah is developing an ambitious project, and its coach, Bruno Lage, has a squad that includes Darwin Núñez, Idrissa Gueye, Enzo Millot, Berat Djimsiti, and Chancel Mbemba.

Lovro Chelfi, a 19-year-old Croatian and Algerian offensive footballer, is transferring from Barcelona's youth setup to Al Diriyah, a Saudi top-division club managed by former Benfica coach Bruno Lage. Chelfi joined Barcelona's youth system a year ago from Kustošija. The Barcelona Juvenil A player is expected to sign his new contract within the next few hours. Barcelona will retain a buy-back option as they are aware of the young attacker's potential and capacity for development and do not want to lose all control over his future. Chelfi has 17 caps and 3 goals for the Croatia U19 national team. In the 2025/2026 season for Prva HNL - Juniori, he made 9 appearances and scored 1 goal.
