Lion Lauberbach, a 27-year-old German striker for KV Mechelen, is attracting interest from the Danish top club Brøndby and the English second-division side Preston. Lauberbach has scored seven goals this season. He was also the subject of a €2 million bid from the Italian second-tier club Venezia. KV Mechelen reportedly rejected this offer. The player was said to have been open to the move. While the Belgian club would prefer to keep Lauberbach, they may be willing to cooperate on a transfer for the right price. Before the winter break, he had also been linked with Mainz. Lauberbach joined KV Mechelen from Eintracht Braunschweig in July 2023 on a free transfer, and his contract is set to expire in June 2027. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €1.70m.
