Luton Town are monitoring Birmingham City player Lee Buchanan, whose position in the squad is less secure following the signing of Kristoffer Lund from Palermo. The emergence of Alex Cochrane as another left-back option has also affected the 25-year-old's situation, which has drawn the attention of the League One club. According to Birmingham Live, Luton sent assistant manager Chris Powell to watch City's pre-season friendly against Barcelona. Buchanan has not played a competitive game in over 20 months because of a long-term knee injury but has now completed a pre-season.
