A football agent representing leading Dutch clubs is scheduled to observe Slavia's Bulgarian winger Kristiyan Balov during the derby against CSKA. Clubs including Twente and Utrecht have shown interest in the 19-year-old, with scouts impressed by his first-team experience of 46 matches. Although Balov's name had been linked with CSKA, Slavia's president, Ventseslav Stefanov, has stated that a transfer to "the reds" will not occur and that any potential move for the player would only be to a foreign club. The main obstacle to a transfer abroad is Slavia's high financial demands. Balov joined Slavia Sofia in July 2024, has a contract with the club until June 2027, and has made seven appearances for the Bulgaria U21 team. His Transfermarkt valuation is currently €500k. The transfer window in Bulgaria closes on Tuesday, February 24.
