According to journalist Alan Nixon, Everton are interested in Genk's 17-year-old Greek-Belgian attacking midfielder, Konstantinos Karetsas, who can also operate as a winger. The club was reportedly one of five English teams with scouts in the VIP seats watching the player during a Europa League match against Rangers. Liverpool, Sunderland, Newcastle, and Bournemouth were also said to have been in attendance, and it is claimed that all five clubs are contemplating a bid in January. Nixon also suggests that Genk is likely to sell the player, whose contract runs until 2027, either in January or next summer, for a fee that could exceed £20m. According to Transfermarkt, the player has a current market value of €20m.
