Kevin Ciubotaru Transfer from Hermannstadt to FCSB
Ciubotaru is considered a solution for FCSB's defensive problems. Gigi Becali stated that he noticed the Hermannstadt player, commenting that he thought he was a striker but he is a defender. Becali finds him good but a bit too short. He said that Hermannstadt officials are his friends but you cannot negotiate with them as they ask for a lot of money. Becali added that he liked the player's confidence, control, and self-assurance, and noted that while he is a kid, he was 'playing around with Rapid's defenders'. Marius Măldărășanu confirmed that it is true there is talk about a possible transfer to FCSB.
FCSB's Gigi Becali is seeking to sign a young defender, as he is not satisfied with the club's current U21 options. After a potential deal for Mario Tudose from FC Argeș failed to materialize, Becali has directed his interest towards Kevin Ciubotaru, a 21-year-old Romanian-Italian left-back from FC Hermannstadt. Becali was reportedly impressed by the player during his performance in a match against Rapid. In a statement to Digisport, Becali confirmed he would sign a U21 defender and stated that he likes Ciubotaru, but voiced concern that after he praised him, FC Hermannstadt might demand a high fee, potentially in the hundreds of thousands of euros. The defender's contract with FC Hermannstadt runs until June 2028, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €75,000.
