Union Berlin's new coach, Mauro Lustrinelli, is internally advocating for the signing of Kastriot Imeri. The 26-year-old midfielder spent the last season on loan at FC Thun, where he became a key player under Lustrinelli, contributing six goals and eight assists in 30 league games. Lustrinelli is considered a mentor to the one-time Swiss international. The loan agreement with Thun included a purchase option, which the club allowed to expire. Imeri is contracted to his parent club, BSC Young Boys, until 2027. He joined Young Boys in August 2022 and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €2.00m.
