Lech Poznań considered signing Polish central midfielder Karol Linetty, 31, last year, but the player chose an offer from Kocaelispor, primarily because of the salary. His time with the Turkish club, where he earned around 900 thousand euros annually and was one of the team's highest-paid players, is regarded as unsuccessful as he did not secure a stable position. Kocaelispor had an option to keep Linetty for another season but decided not to continue their association for both sporting and financial reasons, making him a free agent as his contract expires on June 30, 2026. It is expected that officials at Lech Poznań will become aware of his availability. Dawid Dobrasz assessed that while Lech is looking for a different type of player, a 'number six', there could be a place for Linetty if Antek Kozubal were to leave, and that he could be an option to compete for a first-team spot with Filip Jagiełło or Pablo Rodriguez. The Polish international has 47 caps and 5 goals for his country. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €1.50m.
