Kanya Fujimoto Transfer from Gil Vicente to Birmingham City
Kanya Fujimoto has decided to leave Portugal to pursue his football career in England, where he will be joining Birmingham City. This team has recently been promoted to the Championship after securing the top position in Football League One last season. The Japanese midfielder's move from Gil Vicente to Birmingham City was officially announced today. At 26 years old, Fujimoto is joining the Blues following the expiration of his contract with Gil Vicente, and he has signed a three-year deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2028. Fujimoto becomes the seventh player to join Birmingham City this summer and will play alongside fellow Japanese players Tomoki Iwata and Kyōgo Furuhashi. During his last four seasons with Gil Vicente, Fujimoto made notable contributions, scoring 10 goals in 30 matches last season. Originally playing as a number 10, Fujimoto has represented the Japanese national team at both Under-19 and Under-20 levels.
