Both Piast Gliwice and Wisła Kraków expressed interest in signing 27-year-old Malian midfielder Kalidou Sidibé from Guingamp, who was considering a move to Poland. According to Szymon Janczyk, Sidibé negotiated a transfer and came very close to joining Piast Gliwice. The player had a preliminary agreement with Piast and was so advanced in the process that he was expected to arrive in Poland soon. However, the transfer is now unlikely to proceed because a Russian club has entered the competition to sign him, and Szymon Janczyk suggests Russia is now his probable destination. The Russian club is reportedly Akhmat Grozny. Sidibé, who has one cap for Mali, joined Guingamp in August 2023 and has a contract until June 2026. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €2.00m, and his last transfer fee was a reported €700,000.
