Kai Andrews, a Wales international midfielder, has moved to Oxford United on loan from Premier League club Coventry City, with the loan lasting until 2 January 2027. The transfer was completed despite Oxford operating under a registration embargo because the club received special dispensation from the EFL to make the signing. According to Oxford's Head of Football Operations, Ed Waldron, the 20-year-old was the club's top target at the start of the summer. The agreement does not involve any additional cost for Oxford United, and Coventry City was thanked for being accommodating in loaning out the player under the circumstances. Andrews has been capped three times by Wales, joined Coventry City in July 2025, and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €500k.
