Swiss first-division club Lugano was one of several clubs interested in 22-year-old German defender Julian Eitschberger. Italian Serie A newcomer AC Monza reportedly made an offer slightly above his €1 million market value, but no agreement was reached with Hertha. Further interest in the right-back came from Kortrijk in Belgium, AIK in Sweden, Copenhagen in Denmark, and various clubs from the 2. Bundesliga. Despite this interest, Eitschberger extended his contract with Hertha until 2029. He has one cap for Germany's U21 team.
