Julian Brandt Transfer from Borussia Dortmund to SV Werder Bremen

Julian Brandt has received backing from Borussia Dortmund's sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, after a good performance against TSG Hoffenheim. Despite having one year left on his contract, there are indications that Brandt might leave Borussia Dortmund. One possible destination is Werder Bremen. Kehl has expressed Brandt's importance to the team and mentioned that his situation will be discussed after the season.

Julian Brandt is set to be allowed to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season, with reported interest emerging from Werder Bremen, Brandt's hometown club. However, some sources consider a move to Bremen unlikely, with 'kicker' describing the scenario as completely unrealistic. It was noted that Brandt would have to sacrifice at least two-thirds of his current salary at Borussia Dortmund, which ranges between seven to eight million euros per season, to become the top earner at Werder Bremen. Furthermore, the transfer fee is also a concern for Werder Bremen, although Brandt's contract with Borussia Dortmund, which extends until 2026, provides Werder Bremen with a fair negotiating position. Borussia Dortmund is reportedly open to the idea of selling.

Werder Bremen is showing interest in Julian Brandt, who is currently with Borussia Dortmund. Brandt is seen as a potential candidate to leave Dortmund, as the club is open to letting him go if a suitable offer is made. While Werder Bremen has yet to make contact, they believe in Brandt's abilities. Brandt has personal ties to Bremen, having been born there and previously expressing a desire to return. Despite this, the transfer is considered unlikely due to Brandt's substantial salary at Dortmund, which is between 8 to 9 million Euros. Furthermore, Werder Bremen's uncertain chances of qualifying for international competitions next season and Brandt's current contentment at Dortmund are influencing factors. Dortmund does not plan to extend his contract and may propose a departure in the summer.

Julian Brandt has been a fan of Werder Bremen since his childhood. Nevertheless, it seems unlikely that he would agree to a substantial pay cut to join the team. Brandt's current contract with Borussia Dortmund is due to expire in a year, and although moving to Werder Bremen would be a sentimental decision, financial factors present a significant challenge. Other Bundesliga clubs such as Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig are among the few capable of matching his current salary, but they are reportedly uninterested in signing him due to his recent performances. Consequently, a move to Werder Bremen appears improbable unless Brandt decides to prioritize his childhood loyalty over financial considerations.
