Juan Foyth: Villarreal Contract Extension
Villarreal and Argentine defender Juan Foyth have reached an agreement to extend his contract until 2029. The agreement was announced before the Trofeo de La Cerámica, and the club's president, Fernando Roig, presented Foyth with a commemorative jersey on the stadium field. Foyth joined Villarreal in the summer of 2020 from Tottenham, initially on loan and then permanently for around 15 million euros. He is now beginning his sixth season with the 'grogueta' entity, having had a contract until 2026, which is now extended to 2029.
Juan Foyth's contract with Villarreal is set to expire on June 30 of the following year, and Marcelino García Toral is reportedly eager for the Argentine player to renew his contract as soon as possible, ideally before the new season begins. As reported by 'Diario AS', negotiations have been underway for several weeks, and sources familiar with the matter have indicated that an agreement may soon be reached. The club is looking to extend Foyth's contract for at least two more seasons, recognizing him as a key player for the coach over the past three seasons at Villarreal. According to Transfermarkt, Foyth's current market value is estimated at 15 million euros.
