According to Mundo Deportivo, a loan agreement between Málaga CF and Leganés will see Juan Cruz play on loan at Málaga CF for the next season. For the loan, Málaga must pay 500,000, and 40% of this amount is designated for Real Betis. Real Betis retains that percentage of the player's rights after he was transferred to Leganés for one million euros in the summer of 2024.

Despite some easing of tensions between the player and the club, there are still significant differences in their positions.
