Team Talk reports that Chelsea is making efforts to secure Josh Acheampong, a 20-year-old English defender, with a new long-term contract. Chelsea wants to sign Josh Acheampong to a new long-term contract, a move that would end the interest of five Premier League rivals in him. The club wants to extend that commitment and reward the defender for his progress, potentially for up to six more seasons and through to 2032. Negotiations over a new contract are expected to continue, as Chelsea wants to ensure one of the most highly-rated products of their academy remains part of their first-team plans for the future. The defender has 8 caps and 1 goal for the England U21 team. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €30.00m.
