Hibernian have confirmed that 26-year-old Scottish attacking midfielder Josh Campbell, an academy graduate, has departed on a season-long loan to fellow Premiership side St Johnstone. Campbell will join Simo Valakari's recently promoted team until the end of May, a move that came after the player expressed a desire for more game time. Hibs head coach David Gray expressed good wishes for Campbell, noting his contributions at important times and his understanding of the player's wish to seek more playing opportunities. Sporting director Malky Mackay stated that Campbell has been an important part of Hibernian for a number of years and that this is a good opportunity for him to play regularly. Mackay also believes the loan will be beneficial for the next stage of Campbell's career.
