According to reports from Oxford, 25-year-old English winger Jordan Thomas is close to moving to Oxford United as a free agent, following his departure from Cheltenham Town at the end of the 2025/26 season. The same reports indicate that Lincoln City were linked with the winger during the winter window. During that period, Barnsley was also reportedly interested. A bid from Barnsley for Thomas was rejected in July 2025. Before his move to the EFL with Cheltenham, there had been reported interest from Championship clubs Bristol City, Swansea City, and Cardiff City. Oxford United are making changes to their squad under new head coach Aaron Ramsey and want to add attacking depth. Thomas was born in the city and was part of the club's academy. He is viewed as a different type of option on the right wing to Stan Mills. He has a current Transfermarkt market value of €200k.
