Jonathan Sirois Transfer from CF Montréal to Anderlecht
Italian journalist Rudy Galetti claims that Anderlecht's interest in Jonathan Sirois is genuine. However, it is reported from Canada that the player is not a priority or a serious target.
Voetbalnieuws.be reports that Anderlecht is interested in Jonathan Sirois as a back-up goalkeeper for first goalkeeper Colin Coosemans. The Canadian goalkeeper is under contract with CF Montréal. There appears to be an agreement, as Sirois already follows Anderlecht on Instagram. According to the report, an announcement on official channels is expected soon.
Anderlecht requires a new goalkeeper because their second-choice keeper, Mads Kikkenborg, is nearing a move to Molde FK. The club has shown concrete interest in Jonathan Sirois, a 24-year-old Canadian and French international at CF Montréal who did not retain his starting position towards the end of the MLS season. Sirois is a youth product of the Canadian club, and Anderlecht's sporting director, Olivier Renard, previously worked at Montréal. It is said that there are ongoing contacts with the player, but Anderlecht is still evaluating other options, both domestically and from abroad, to address their goalkeeping situation. Sirois's contract runs until the end of 2026, and his current market value is €1.00m according to Transfermarkt. He was previously linked with Montpellier and Southampton.
