Yann Sommer has decided against returning to FC Basel, and Jonas Omlin, a 32-year-old Swiss international, has emerged as the leading candidate for the goalkeeper position. Omlin, a Gladbach keeper, was loaned to Leverkusen in the winter but has not made any appearances this season. His contract with parent club Borussia Mönchengladbach is valid until June 2027. The goalkeeper has four caps for Switzerland and, according to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €1.50m.
