Germanijak reports that Jon Mersinaj is joining Slaven Belupo on loan until the end of the current season. The club announced that Mersinaj will have his first training with his new teammates today and will be eligible to play from the cup match against Hrvatski dragovoljac on Wednesday.

Vecernji List reports that Albanian defender Jon Mersinaj has arrived at Slaven Belupo, where he was presented as a new reinforcement for the rest of the season. Mersinaj will again work with Silvijo Čabraja, who became the coach of Slaven Belupo this summer. The two have previously worked together at Lokomotiva.

Jon Mersinaj, a 27-year-old Albanian centre-back, is a new player for Slaven Belupo after leaving Osijek. He is expected to play in the defense for Mario Gregurina's team in Koprivnica. Mersinaj had joined Osijek from Lokomotiva in February 2025, signing a contract until the summer of 2027, with Lokomotiva receiving a fee for that deal. After not making any appearances for Osijek this season despite being in the squad, he has completed his move. The fee paid by Slaven to Osijek for this transfer is not known. He has one cap for the Albanian national team. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €400k.
