According to Diario de Burgos, Burgos is interested in signing 23-year-old Spanish striker Jon Karrikaburu on a permanent basis and wants to offer him a long-term contract. The club's sporting director, Michu, has unsuccessfully attempted to loan the striker for several seasons but is now pursuing a permanent deal, motivated by Real Sociedad's desire to sell the player and the fact that he has only one year left on his contract. Burgos believes in Karrikaburu's undeveloped potential and is further encouraged by the fact their coach, Sergio Francisco, knows the player well from their time together at Real C. While Burgos wants him to reinforce their attack, other clubs are also interested, with Sporting reportedly trying to sign him and the player's own preference being a return to Racing de Santander. Karrikaburu, who joined Real Sociedad in July 2022, has a current Transfermarkt market value of €1.80m and has been capped twice for Spain's U21 team.
