Swedish defender Johan Albin, 22, has signed for MŠK Žilina on a contract until the end of June 2029. He joins from the Swedish second-league club Oddevold, where he had been since January, making 20 appearances and scoring one goal. According to the club's sporting director, Karol Belaník, this was not a hasty decision, as they had been monitoring Albin for a long time. The transfer was made to address the club's needs at the centre-back position after Filip Kaša was moved to the B-team. Belaník also noted that they were prepared for potential interest in other defensive players. He stated that Albin arrives as a match-fit player and that they believe he will gradually adapt and create healthy competition for the position. Albin said that he never imagined his career would continue in Slovakia but was impressed by the club's work with young players and is looking forward to the challenge. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €100k.
