According to Joël Piroe's agent, Theo Roebbers, Alavés in Spain was interested, but it ceased to be an option after they heard the asking price.

Amid interest from several clubs in England and Europe, including La Liga's Deportivo Alavés, 27-year-old Dutch-Surinamese centre-forward Joël Piroe is seeking to leave Leeds United before the transfer window closes. No club has yet offered an amount near Leeds' minimum asking price of £16 million (€18.7 million), a figure that Piroe's agent, Theo Robbers, has described as unrealistic because of the player's limited playing time last season. It has been reported that discussions took place this week between all parties regarding the club potentially lowering its valuation as the deadline gets closer. Piroe has one international cap for Suriname, joined Leeds in August 2023, and is under contract until June 2027. His current market value is €10.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
