Joel Catesby, a 19-year-old English winger, has joined Accrington Stanley from Everton on a season-long loan, which is his first temporary transfer. Catesby has been part of the Everton academy since he was four and signed his first professional contract a couple of years ago, having gained experience in Premier League 2 and the Vertu Trophy. Manager John Doolan told the club site that he has observed Catesby for a period of time. Doolan described him as a very good player with pace, who can beat opponents and understand the game. Doolan also commented that this first loan is a crucial next step for the player's progression into senior football. He added that while patience will be required, Catesby will add quality to the squad.
