Jones added that West Ham have also looked at the player, and he noted that Chelsea are knowledgeable about the player as Strasbourg is their sister club. The insider conveyed that he is not certain of Villa's timeline for a potential move and would be slightly surprised if a deal was pursued in January, believing it would be a difficult signing to complete at that time. He also mentioned that finding a new forward is a possibility for the next window, as the club seeks another option to rotate with Ollie Watkins, not to replace him. It has also been reported that Chelsea are monitoring Panichelli and may have first refusal on him, with their scouts said to be impressed by his performances. Panichelli, who has one cap for Argentina, joined Strasbourg in July 2025 and has scored nine goals in 15 Ligue 1 appearances this season. His contract with the French club runs until 2030, and his current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €12.00m.
