FC Porto has negotiated with Santa Clara for the signing of João Afonso, who is a 19-year-old goalkeeper and a Portuguese youth international. The player is expected to join FC Porto on a contract until 2031, if no unexpected developments occur. Afonso recently made his senior debut for Santa Clara, starting the last two matches of the Liga season, one of which was against FC Porto. The deal involves FC Porto paying €1.5 million for 80% of the player's rights, with a further €500,000 in potential add-ons. In the future, the club can acquire the remaining 20% of his economic rights for €2 million. His contract with Santa Clara was scheduled to expire on 30/06/2027.
