Joan Jordán Transfer from Sevilla to Celta de Vigo

Mundo Deportivo reports on Sevilla FC's discussions with 31-year-old Spanish midfielder Joan Jordán regarding his potential departure during the January transfer window. With just over two weeks remaining in the January transfer window, Sevilla FC has started discussions with Joan Jordán and his representatives to arrange the midfielder's departure. This move is part of the club's strategy to relieve pressure on its salary limit and adjust the squad. According to sources close to the club, Jordán is receptive to finding a new team where he can secure more playing time, following a period of having a less significant role and injuries. Celta is mentioned as a potential destination. Sevilla is exploring several exit strategies, including a temporary loan where the destination club would pay a portion of his salary, similar to his loan at Alavés last season, or a permanent transfer with a severance package. This development comes after Sevilla proposed last summer that Jordán renegotiate his contract for a lower salary in exchange for an extension to help register other players. The player's current contract with Sevilla extends until June 2027. Jordán, who joined the club in July 2019, has made 2 appearances in LaLiga this season with no goals or assists. His current market value is €2.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
