Norwegian centre-back Jesper Daland, 26, will leave Cardiff City for Viking, and the defender's deal will initially be a loan. It is claimed that Daland is already on his way to the Norwegian side, though it is not yet known if the agreement includes an option or obligation to buy. The move was approved because Daland was not included in Brian Barry-Murphy's first-team plans for this season, having been left out of pre-season and training with the under-21s this summer. The centre-back spent the previous season on loan at 2. Bundesliga club Fortuna Dusseldorf. Daland, who joined Cardiff on 20/08/2024, has a contract with the club until 30/06/2028. The uncapped Norway international has a current Transfermarkt market value of €1.50m.
