Newcastle are one of several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, Chelsea, and Manchester United, who are interested in Leicester City's 16-year-old winger, Jeremy Monga. According to TBRFootball, Manchester City are reportedly ahead of other clubs in pursuing the player, who they were close to signing last summer before he chose scholarship terms with Leicester. Because Monga is not yet 17, he cannot sign a professional contract, which would leave Leicester unable to prevent him from leaving. Insider Graeme Bailey has described Monga as a generational talent and suggested a move could occur in January.
