Jeremy Agbonifo Transfer from Lens to Basel
Jeremy Agbonifo, who was initially associated with a loan transfer to Lech Poznań, has ultimately been acquired by FC Basel on a loan arrangement until June 30, 2026. The player is valued at 5 million euros, with an unofficial buyout clause reportedly around 2 million euros. The transfer was confirmed by Sebastian Staszewski. Agbonifo, a 19-year-old winger and youth international for Sweden who also holds Nigerian citizenship, had earlier transferred from Häcken to Lens for 6.5 million euros earlier in the summer. Despite Lens not considering him as part of their long-term plans, his contract with the French club is set to expire in June 2028. Lech Poznań's attempts to secure him were ultimately unsuccessful as the reigning Swiss champions, FC Basel, intervened at the last moment, marking a significant achievement in the transfer market. This development leaves Lech Poznań searching for alternative options to strengthen their squad.
