TYC reports that Javier Burrai has arrived at his new club. The goalkeeper has experience with the Ecuador national team.
According to TyC, 35-year-old goalkeeper Javier Burrai is confirmed as Sarmiento's first reinforcement for the 2026 season. Burrai arrives as a free agent after his time with Talleres de Córdoba and will sign a one-year loan deal. He is expected to be the primary goalkeeper for Facundo Sava's team. This follows the departures of both the starter, Lucas Acosta, and his backup, José Devecchi, who returned to Lanús and San Lorenzo respectively after their loan deals concluded. This will be Burrai's second spell at the club. He previously played for Sarmiento between 2016 and mid-2017, making seven appearances during that period.
