St. Pauli had expressed interest in signing Janis Antiste, however, they will not proceed with the acquisition as he is set to join Rapid Wien. Antiste, who previously played for US Sassuolo, is currently in Vienna for a medical examination. He will initially be part of Rapid Wien on a one-year loan deal, with the Austrian club having the option to purchase him for four million euros. Despite the interest from both St. Pauli and Mainz 05, Antiste's transfer to Rapid Wien signifies the next phase in his career, following a successful loan period at 1. FC Nürnberg, where he managed to score five goals and provided two assists in twelve 2. Bundesliga matches last season.
