Jani Atanasov leaving Cracovia Kraków?

Gjani Atanasov, a 26-year-old international midfielder from North Macedonia, has officially signed a two-year contract with AEL until the summer of 2027. Previously, he played for Cracovia and was on loan to Niepolomice in Poland. He joins AEL as a free transfer.

Jani Atanasow appears to be on the verge of transferring from Cracovia to AE Larisa, a team recently promoted to the Greek top division. The website metrosport.gr reported that the transfer is anticipated to be finalized on Monday. Atanasow had joined Cracovia at the start of 2023 from Hajduk Split, with the Croatian club receiving more than 400,000 euros for the midfielder. Initially, he was a regular starter, but his role was diminished last season, resulting in a loan to Puszcza Niepołomice. Upon returning to Cracovia in the summer, Atanasow struggled to establish a significant role under coach Luka Elsner. As a result, he is expected to terminate his contract, which was originally supposed to last another year, and make the move to Greece.

Media reported a possible transfer abroad, with Hibernian FC being interested in Jani Atanasow. However, nothing came of it, and he will continue his career in the Ekstraklasa.
