James Penrice Transfer from Hearts to AEK Athens
According to Gazzetta.gr, AEK has reached an agreement to sign James Penrice from Hearts. The Greek club agreed to pay 2.3 million euros for the Scottish left-back, who is 26 years old. Penrice is set to sign a contract with AEK that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2028. The transfer is particularly noteworthy as Hearts were initially reluctant to sell Penrice; however, the financial offer was considered too good to refuse, especially since they had acquired him for free from Livingston the previous year. Penrice is scheduled to arrive in the Netherlands on Friday, July 4th, to join AEK's summer training camp, where he will complete the necessary formalities before being officially announced as a new signing.
Daily Record reports on the transfer of James Penrice to AEK Athens. Hearts have accepted a near £2million bid from AEK Athens for James Penrice. The left-back has been given permission to open talks and have a medical with the Greek side. AEK are currently on a pre-season tour in the Netherlands and want Penrice to join them. The Jambos were reluctant to sell but are set to land nearly £2million plus add ons for a player they signed for free from Livingston last summer. Now he's set to join up with Anthony Martial and Erik Lamela in the Greek capital.
According to Fabrizio Romano and the report, AEK Athens has reached an agreement with Hearts for the acquisition of Scottish left-back James Penrice.
