The BBC has reported, and L'Équipe has confirmed, that Strasbourg wishes to loan James McAtee from Nottingham Forest for the second half of the season. The French club hopes that the very good relations established with Nottingham Forest since the €35 million transfer of Dilane Bakwa last September will assist with the deal.

Strasbourg are interested in a loan for Nottingham Forest's central midfielder James McAtee this winter. McAtee joined Nottingham Forest from Manchester City in August 2025 for a fee of €25 million and has made six league appearances this season. Other clubs such as Chelsea, Eintracht Frankfurt, and VfB Stuttgart have also been linked with the player.
