Newcastle United have permitted Jamaal Lascelles to leave the club in January. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe revealed there is a possibility that the player could leave, describing Lascelles as an incredible servant and a great leader for the club behind the scenes. Howe added that they will wait and see what happens with his future. Lascelles has been told he can leave if the deal is right, as Newcastle are eager to remove his salary from their wage bill following his return from a long-term injury. It is estimated that Lascelles earns a basic weekly salary of £45,000 plus bonuses, and if a transfer is completed this month, Newcastle would save approximately £1m in wages between now and the end of the season.
