Jakub Szumski Transfer from Sakaryaspor to Kocaelispor
Jakub Szumski, who previously played as a goalkeeper for Legia Warszawa and Raków Częstochowa, is reportedly on the verge of transferring to a new club. Demokratkocaeli.com has suggested that Kocaelispor, an imminent entrant to the Turkish top league, is keen on acquiring him. Szumski, who has been part of the Turkish football scene since 2021 with stints at BB Erzurumspor and Samsunspor, is currently with Sakaryaspor. Despite his contract running until June 30, 2026, a move to Kocaelispor seems plausible as the club is in search of seasoned players. It is anticipated that Szumski will achieve local player status in July, enhancing his appeal since he will not be counted among the foreign player quota. Hailing from Warsaw, Szumski emerged from Legia's youth ranks and has also represented Piast Gliwice and Zagłębie Sosnowiec. This season, he has played in 31 matches, managing to secure nine clean sheets. Although the transfer is yet to be finalized, there is a strong likelihood that the 33-year-old will soon don Kocaelispor's colors.
