Jakub Budnicki will be on loan at Polonia Warszawa for the coming months. Polonia Warszawa acquired the player from Korona Kielce on a temporary transfer due to an Achilles tendon injury that Michał Grudniewski sustained during the winter training camp. Budnicki had transferred to Korona Kielce the previous summer, when the Ekstraklasa club signed him permanently from GKS Tychy. According to reports, Korona Kielce paid 700 thousand PLN for Budnicki.

According to Kamil Bętkowski, Polonia Warszawa has targeted Korona Kielce's 24-year-old Polish centre-back Jakub Budnicki. The club is searching for a new centre-back because Michał Grudniewski suffered a serious and long-term Achilles tendon injury. Polonia Warszawa is not the only club interested in the player, as Ruch Chorzów is also reported to be seriously considering a move. A potential move would provide the Warsaw club with short-term defensive reinforcement and would give Budnicki an opportunity for regular playing time, which he currently lacks at Korona Kielce after losing his place in the starting eleven over time. Budnicki joined the club in July 2025 and is under contract until June 30, 2028. He has made 6 appearances in the Ekstraklasa this season. Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €300k.
