According to Germanijak, Utrecht has officially confirmed the arrival of Jakov Medić, a 27-year-old Croatian defender. He is joining on a one-year loan from Norwich, with an option for a permanent transfer at the end of the season. The report from Germanijak states that Utrecht was quicker and more decisive than several interested Bundesliga clubs in signing Medić.

De Telegraaf reported that FC Utrecht is about to sign Jakov Medic from Norwich City on a one-year loan. The report stated that an agreement is already in place between the two clubs and that FC Utrecht has also secured an option to buy Jakov Medic.

FC Utrecht is close to securing a loan deal for the 27-year-old Croatian defender Jakov Medić from his current club, Norwich City, which would mark a return to the Eredivisie for him. The former Ajax player moved to the Championship side last summer for two million euros. A club from the Bundesliga is also interested in Medić, but Utrecht has the greatest probability of signing him. A final decision on the transfer is expected on Transfer Deadline Day. His contract with Norwich expires in June 2028, and his market value is €1.50m, according to Transfermarkt.
