Jake Rooney Transfer from Derby County to Boston United
Journalist Alan Nixon reported that Derby County defender Jake Rooney is set to join National League team Boston United on loan for the rest of the season. This move follows the early termination of his season-long loan at Barnsley. He had joined Barnsley in September and made seven competitive appearances. Rooney, who had few other options having already played for two EFL clubs this season, will now join manager Paul Hurst's squad in Lincolnshire. Boston United is currently near the bottom of the National League table and is two points away from a position of safety. It is hoped that Rooney's arrival will bring stability to their defence as they try to avoid relegation. The purpose of the loan is for the centre-back to gain valuable senior-level experience before he returns to Derby.
