As Gianluca Gaetano is reportedly close to signing for Atalanta, the management of Cagliari has identified Jacopo Fazzini, a 23-year-old Italian midfielder from Fiorentina, as an ideal replacement. Fazzini is highly regarded by Cagliari's new sporting director, Pietro Accardi, and is looking for a club where he can secure consistent playing time and redeem himself. The Sardinian club faces competition for the midfielder, as Parma is also reportedly interested in him. The central midfielder made 20 appearances in Serie A in the 2025/2026 season, has a contract with Fiorentina until 2030, and has a current market value of €8.50m according to Transfermarkt. Fiorentina signed Fazzini from Empoli in July 2025 for a fee reported to be a €10 million base plus €2 million in potential bonuses.
