A number of League One and League Two clubs are preparing offers for Jack Payne in January, as the player is out of contract next summer and has not yet been offered a new deal. Jack Payne also attracted interest from several clubs in the summer window.

Colchester United turned down bids for 31-year-old English attacking midfielder Jack Payne before the closure of the transfer window. U’s boss Danny Cowley said that an offer would have to be at least quadruple what was offered for him to even consider losing the player, because they love him and he loves them. Payne, who joined the club on 02/07/2024, has a contract that expires on 30/06/2027. His current market value is €275k, according to Transfermarkt.
