Nineteen-year-old English centre back Jack McEvilly has signed a one-year contract with Tranmere Rovers, arriving from Burnley as one of two young players to transfer from there. McEvilly spent the last three seasons with Burnley U21 and also gained first-team experience during a loan spell at Clitheroe. For the 2025/2026 season in the Premier League 2, Jack McEvilly made 8 appearances and provided 1 assist. Upon signing, McEvilly expressed that he was delighted and was looking forward to the challenge. Manager Darrell Clarke stated that the club was very pleased to sign McEvilly. Clarke described him as a young player with good qualities, a willingness to learn, and a hunger to improve. Clarke added that they anticipate helping him continue his development while also strengthening the squad.
