Ivan Banić Transfer from Gorica to Sarajevo
Dalmatinski Portal reports on Ivan Banić's transfer to Sarajevo. Ivan Banić, the former goalkeeper of Gorica, has signed a contract with Sarajevo until the summer of 2028. Sarajevo announced the agreement with the 30-year-old Banić, who was one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the SuperSport HNL during his time at the Croatian club Gorica.
Ivan Banić was initially considered to support Silić at Hajduk. He was reportedly enthusiastic about the move, but Hajduk put Banić on hold due to Garcia's preference for Majkić. Ultimately, Banić chose not to wait for Hajduk and agreed to join Sarajevo, where he is expected to be unveiled soon. Previously a goalkeeper for Gorica, Banić had been seen as a secure option for Hajduk. However, with the focus shifting towards acquiring Lovro Majkić, who was favored by the new coach Gonzalo Garcia, Banić's transfer to Hajduk was deprioritized. This shift in priorities led Banić to finalize his move to Sarajevo as a free agent, indicating a significant change in Hajduk's goalkeeping strategy.
